Biscotti TV Phone delivers convenient video calling to the living room

Biscotti TV Phone

The Biscotti TV Phone recently made its way into the video calling arena in a black and yellow avatar. Named after the famous sweet biscuit and even bearing a resemblance to the confectionary in terms of the shape, this device promises to offer a vivid and detailed video-calling experience to users through their TV.

This gadget is embedded with a 5MP HD camera featuring zoom, tilt and digital pan. It also possesses an in-built microphone and delivers optimal performance in dim environs so that users can carry it around the room freely and show various things to the person they are video chatting with. The company claims that the quality of video calling is quite life-like and owners would feel like the person they are chatting with is right next to them.

To start video calling users have to place the device on top of the TV and operate and capture videos through the accompanying remote control. They are enabled to call those on their Biscotti and Google contacts list via a TV, PC, smartphone or tablet. With this device the need for scheduling calls or waiting for the computer to boot is eliminated and users can take calls even while watching TV.

For video calling with Biscotti, users have to connect a source such as a cable or satellite box to the TV’s HDMI output and then connect with the TV Phone’s HDMI input. It features a Wi-Fi LED status indicator light screen and an infrared remote control receiver. The Biscotti TV Phone can now be purchased online at biscotti.com for a price of $199 (approx. Rs. 10,000).
