Garmin International Inc. adds a new navigation device to its wide array of already-existing products. The company presents the Garmin nuvi 3700 series packed with a sleek appearance and a large high-resolution glass display complete with a touch panel. Besides these attributes, the device is also highly portable in nature.

The overall thickness of the Garmin nuvi 3700 series is noted to be just 9mm. It also sports a 4.3” WVGA display with smooth glass capacitive touch panel. From here, customers can easily view all their intuitive menus and preloaded maps. The latest product can be either held in portrait or landscape mode and can be placed in the car or even carried around in the pocket while traveling on foot.

“Personal navigation is entering a new era, and the nüvi 3700 series has the stunning design and seamlessly intuitive interface to lead the way. Our designers and engineers were challenged to rethink an industry icon, and the result is as pristine as it is practical,” explained Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales.

Through the display, consumers can easily zoom in and out with a simple pinch or double-tap. Surrounding areas on the map can be seen by dragging a finger around the screen. With a touch, users can also toggle between 2D to 3D and rotate the map 360 degrees. For all those unwanted touches, the navigation device includes a screen lock.

The nuvi 3790T features a customizable ‘wake-up phrase’ to begin voice-activated navigation while all the devices include trafficTrends and myTrends for recommendations and predictions. The nuvi 3790T and nuvi 3760T comprises of Bluetooth wireless technology and free lifetime traffic alerts.

The entire 3700 series includes ecoRoute and an enhanced pedestrian mode with public transit options. This can be acquired via cityXplorer content. The Garmin nuvi 3700 series offers customers clear voice prompts, customizable wallpaper, Lane assist with junction view, Speed limit indicator, Patented auto time zone, Garmin Connect Photos and ‘Where Am I?’ feature.
