The features of the XRS-R9G include a wireless remote controlled radar/laser detector with speed and red light camera location alerts.

The speed and red light camera location database with updates are also included on the GPS locator that is available through the Cobra website. The device alerts the driver to slow down while approaching dangerous intersections or strips of highways.

The black spot indicates high accident zones, school and construction zones. It also features Super-Xtreme Range Superheterodyne, Maximum Performance 12 Band Technology with LaserEye that detects the fastest radar and laser guns along with POP Mode.

“Across the country, the number of speed and red light cameras is growing exponentially,” said Tony Mirabelli, senior vice president of marketing and sales at Cobra Electronics. “Our camera detection capabilities in Europe, through Performance Products Limited, combined with our domestic expertise in radar detection and GPS make us the most qualified to bring this new innovation to the United States. Now drivers can stay alert no matter where they travel.”

Moreover, Cobra has hooked both the GPS locator and the main radar/laser detector unit behind the rearview mirror at the top of the windshield that enhances the detection range and reduces the visibility of the unit from outsider the car.

Cobra XRS-R9G also provides the new XRS IntelliLink remote controlled detectors and lithium-ion rechargeable battery that allows the pocket-size remote to work up to 40 hours and offers 2-hour quick-charge option.

The Cobra XRS R9G radar detector carries a price tag of $449.95 (approx. Rs. 18,000).
