Nokia releases it popular gaming service known as N-Gage to Indian consumers. This includes several additional games and an expanded online offering. Part of Nokia’s internet services brand Ovi, N-Gage allows users to personalize their internet gaming experience.
Customers can avail of N-Gage’s catalogue of 30 games developed by global as well as Indian publishers like Glu Mobile and EA Mobile. Indian users who own a Nokia handset can now avail of a variety of games through the N-Gage mobile application. They can be accessed online from N-Gage showrooms using the mobile phone or directly from the game application onto their N-Gage compatible phones.
Mr. Vineet Taneja, Director Marketing, Nokia India said, “With N-Gage, Nokia is looking at redefining the gaming experience for consumers in India as well as creating a strong and collaborative ecosystem so as to catalyze the market for mobile gaming. We are aiming to provide a holistic consumer experience, be it in terms of discovery and access, top quality content, billing flexibility and innovative devices and accessories.â€
The N-Gage application allows users to connect to other players via the N-gage Arena community online. They can discuss topics through message boards and live chats. Customers can even take part in hosted events and tournaments held online. Customers can create Friends List, exchange private messages and participate in instant messaging style chat.
Gamers earn N-Gage Points as they play games and take part in community activities. The N-Gage web portal can also be accessed from the users’ personal computer. They can interact with the community, buy new games and download them to their devices. Contributions to the N-Gage service are supplied by the Nokia Games Publishing division.

N-Gage game vouchers can also be brought from Oxicash, Oxigen’s e-commerce website with the Oxicash pre-paid card. This portal can be accessed from the users’ PC or from their mobile phone.
Before buying the game, customers can also try them out first. The games can be downloaded and played on various Nokia handset models. Some of these include the Nokia Nseries, Nokia S60 3rd edition devices Nokia 6210 Navigator and Nokia 5320 XpressMusic. Gamers can enjoy playing these games in both landscape and portrait mode. This feature is exclusive to the N-Gage platform from Nokia.
Nokia N-Gage games can be purchased for a price ranging from Rs.49 to Rs.299.
