This autumn will bring the Transformers back, but this time it’s not on the big screen. Glu Mobile today announced that it is developing a new Transformers mobile game, called Transformers G1: Awakening.
The mobile game will be based on the movie Transformers. Concentrating on Transformers roots, the game will offer the same character, storyline and classic visuals that produced a pop culture phenomenon.
Glu Mobile has joined hands with HPG, Hasbro’s licensing division, to develop and publish the game.
“TRANSFORMERS has a vast consumer base worldwide, and we saw great enthusiasm and reception with the launch of our TRANSFORMERS game last year. With TRANSFORMERS G1: AWAKENING, we’ve incorporated classic elements true to the original franchise while creating an innovative and enthralling mobile strategy game that will appeal to TRANSFORMERS fans new and old,†explained Jill Braff, senior vice president of global publishing, Glu.

The Transformers G1: Awakening game is expected to release by September 2008.
