Yesterday, there was news about PSP Slim & Lite selling 1 million units, breaking all records of the old PSP in Japan.
Now Nintendo’s DS is reportedly the fastest selling system ever in the UK. In the last seven days 1,91,000 DS units were sold in the UK. That means on an average 27,285 units were sold everyday. This number is higher than any other hardware sold in the history of the UK.
Speaking to trade paper MCV, a Nintendo spokesperson said, “We’re obviously delighted to be able to announce this. Momentum has been increasing on DS sales and to achieve the highest weekly sales figure ever in the history of the games market is fantastic.â€
Earlier the record of the fastest selling device was held by Sony’s Portable PlayStation. It managed to sell 185,000 units in UK during its first week on sale. It was launched in September 2005.
