Nintendo’s Wii and DS rule the Japanese Market; outselling Sony’s PSP and PS3

For some time Sony’s PSP had outsold Nintendo’s DS. According to reports Nintendo DS is back on its number one position by outselling Sony PSP with the ratio of 3:1.

According to Japanese sales watcher Enterbrain, DS (including both DS and DS Lite) outsold Sony PSP by selling 3.478 million units in the fiscal first half. While PSP managed to sell only 1.07 million units.

Further Enterbrain report says that there is 21.7 percent increase in the Japanese game market from March to September.

The same Enterbrain report says that in April through September, Wii outsold the PlayStation 3 by more than four to one in Japan.

In short, Nintendo’s Wii and DS both are ruling the Japanese market.
