Samsung Series 9 Monitor 01

The Samsung Series 9 monitor, also known officially as the S27A970, will see the light of day at the Korean manufacturer’s booth during the CES 2012. The company has even shed light on the official pricing of the 27-inch offering as well as a March release date.

Highlights of this new display include the use of Natural Color Expert technology as well as the Plane Line Switching panel intelligence by Samsung. The former is said to ensure no loss of tonalities onscreen by including hardware color calibration within the monitor. On the other hand, the PLS panel technology is responsible for delivering true color reproduction.

“Interest in user-generated content and a premium computing experience is growing as consumers are demanding products that allow them to better view, edit and share their photos, videos and entertainment content. The new Series 9 monitor, with Samsung’s exclusive Natural Color Expert technology, answers a need for higher resolution for meticulous detail editing, regardless of the job. Its unique minimalist design draws users in for truly immersive computing and delivers Samsung’s signature best-in-class viewing experience,” believes Todd Bouman, vice president of product marketing at Samsung Enterprise Business Division.

The monitor proffers a qHD resolution of 2560 x 1440p, which is reportedly about four times higher when compared to conventional HD screens. A USB hub and all I/O terminals have now been ported to the round aluminum base. The chassis further lends supports to a DisplayPort, dual link DVI and HDMI video connections in addition to the aforementioned ones. The audio aspect is managed by the integrated 7 watt stereo speakers. The latest Samsung delight is also capable of connecting to MHL-enabled smartphones and tablets.

The Samsung Series 9 monitor price is revealed to be $1,199.99 (approx. Rs. 63,330). It is expected to be made commercially available from March 2012.
