It seems like there is tough competition ahead, what with the AOC 23-inch Aire monitor with docking station joining the league to compete against the likes of LG and Samsung displays at the upcoming CES. The e2343Fi monitor that doubles up as a docking station for iPhone and iPod, projects the content from these iOS devices with the assistance of its plug and play technology.
The sleek 12.9mm thin monitor is fitted with a black bezel along with a white colored back panel to complement the Apple devices. Featuring a viewing real estate of 23 inches, it offers a dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000,000:1, while the response time is tagged at 5 milliseconds. With an aspect ratio of 16:9, it is capable of displaying 16.7 million colors with a brightness of about 250cd/m².
“The Aire Monitor with Docking Station is the ideal multimedia solution for iPhone and iPod users who want to watch movies or browse photos on a 23-inch high definition flat screen directly from their mobile device. The monitor displays photos and video content on a screen that is 37 times larger than the iPhone that it comes from,†stated Robert Velez, Marketing Manager of AOC.
This Windows 7 OS compatible AOC 23-inch Aire monitor with docking station renders clear visuals of 1920 x 1080p resolutions at the rate of 60Hz. Besides acting as a docking station for Apple gadgets, the HDMI digital input lets users connect the device to a number of other peripherals and gadgets. The Dynamic Contrast Boost feature included in it, allows color adjustment along with creating five enhancement settings.
Moreover, the audio factor is taken care of by the 10 watt built-in speakers. Besides the graphical OSD menu that is accessible through the mouse, it is pre-loaded with the Screen+ software to divide the screen into four work areas. Some other attributes of the eco-friendly peripheral are mercury free LED backlighting, off timer and eSaver mode to conserve energy.
The AOC 23-inch Aire monitor with docking station (e2343Fi) price tag reads $279.99 (approx. Rs. 14,760). It will be exhibited at the CES 2012 and is slated to hit store shelves in March this year.
