Screens are obviously a highlight when it comes to tablets and while Samsung has earned a name for itself in that arena, speculation is rife that the company has began manufacturing 7″ AMOLED screens with WSVGA resolutions of 600 x 1024p. Oled-Display.net reports that the manufacturer is scheduled to launch tablets embedded with this kind of a display in the near future.

The trend of AMOLED displays on tablets was stressed on by Samsung itself way back in September last year when the Galaxy Tab 7.7 was introduced. The sleek slate was incorporated with a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display possessing a WXGA resolution of 1280 x 800p.The latest buzz is that the company is most likely to use 7-inch AMOLED display screens in its upcoming tablets or sell them to other tablet manufacturing organizations such as Sony or Asus.

This new kind of display that Samsung has apparently started producing is believed to surpass the brightness parameter set by the 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display of the Galaxy Tab. The forthcoming screen reportedly boasts of 400 nit brightness which is higher than the 250 nit that the Galaxy Tab offers. The display is said to deliver an enhanced image quality. However, it may possess a lower resolution compared to its 7.7-inch counterpart.

Rumors stating that Asus and Sony may most probably use this AMOLED display for their tablet PC products have been gaining strength for quite some time. Sony has already integrated this technology in its PlayStation Vita gaming console that sports a 5-inch AMOLED screen. 2012 appears to be quite a promising year as far as advancements in technology go and whether these stories hold water is yet to be seen.
