LG Optimus Pad will be up for pre-order across Japan starting March 15

The stunning LG Optimus Pad has enriched the tablet portfolio with its 8.9-inch display screen and advanced functionalities. Well, tech buffs across Japan may sound pleased since the company will start taking orders for the Japanese-market variant of this coveted device beginning March 15.

The unit is all set to step into the market through a partnership with NTT Docomo. The tablet incorporates interesting applications, including BeeTV which offers an extensive range of entertainment content for Docomo users. The 2Dfacto application permits enthusiasts to seamlessly enjoy a wide array of eBooks and comics.

“Japanese consumers are among the fastest early adopters and we plan to move very aggressively here with our advanced mobile smart products in 2011,” commented Kyu-hong Lee, Vice President and CEO of LG Electronics Japan. “Getting the Optimus Pad to market quickly in Japan is proof of LG’s commitment to serving the Japanese market.”

Powered by the Android 3.0 platform, this alluring device boasts of a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor. The widescreen display is capable of delivering 1280 x 768 resolution and 15:9 aspect ratio. The LG Optimus Pad houses a 3D camera which renders full HD 1080p decoding. Besides HDMI capabilities, the solution comes with a front-facing camera for video chat and a 5MP rear-facing camera for crisp images.
