Epson has announced two new portable combo projectors in the United States, the MG-850HD and the MG-50, both designed especially for iOS devices like iPhone, iPod and iPad. The projectors allow viewing videos, presentations, etc. from these devices almost anywhere by using the dock provided with it.

Both these devices are equipped with LCD technology, which projects rich and vibrant colors. Also, the MG-850HD being the flagship device displays 720p HD resolution and 2,800 lumens of color and white light output. The MG-50 on the other hand offers a resolution of 520p and brightness of up to 2,200 lumens.

“MegaPlex is the ideal big screen projector for the new digital lifestyle. Enabling consumers to share multimedia content from their iPod, iPhone, iPad and a wide assortment of other digital devices, MegaPlex is changing the way movies, gaming, slideshows, presentations, music, and more are viewed by eliminating the confinement of a smaller screen,” believes Jason Palmer, product manager, Epson America. “With the high-quality, versatility and portability of Epson’s MegaPlex solutions, consumers can literally dock their iPad, iPhone or iPod, click and immediately share multimedia content on a big screen wherever they may be.”

Both projectors are integrated with 10W stereo speakers with four different audio modes and can also be used as separate speaker docks. They also feature microphone inputs, which allow users to make presentations with narrations. The devices are compatible with Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360.

Starting September 2011, users can purchase the Epson MegaPlex MG-850HD and MG-50 for a price of $799 (approx Rs.38, 128) and $699 (approx Rs.33, 356) respectively. They can be grabbed from Epson online stores or select retailers in the States.
