HP 2311gt 3D monitor

The HP 2311gt 3D monitor is now out and will be followed by other 3D offerings. These revelations suggest that the company is on a spree to paint the town – ‘3D.’ The 3D monitor is a 23-inch diagonal LED backlit display that adopts passive technology in order to add the required third dimension to a viewer’s visual world.

What this basically boils down to is that viewers would have to throw on a pair of polarized glasses to view content in 3D. For prospective users who are looking for something more high-end, the company has announced the HP TouchSmart 620 3D Edition PC. This will come with stereoscopic 3D glasses to deliver an enhanced visual experience.

Coming back to the HP 2311gt 3D monitor, it incorporates a Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) technology for clear images and 3D pictures that are flicker-free. Additionally, the gadget ships with two pairs of 3D glasses. Plus, the monitor is bundled with Cyberlink’s PowerDVD so that user’s existing 2D content including photos and videos can be converted to 3D.

For ardent gamers, the company has also included the DDD’s TriDef 3D game player, which allows them to play 2D games in complete 3D. With these interesting specs in tow coupled with a decent price tag, the monitor may come across as quite an interesting deal to prospective users out there.

The HP 2311gt 3D monitor is available in the U.S. at a starting price of $299.99 (approx. Rs. 14,926).
