NEC Display shines with U300X and U310W ultra short throw Projectors

NEC U300X Projectors

NEC Display was in the news earlier this month as it unleashed the Android-based LifeTouch cloud communicator tablet. Now the company extends its acclaimed U Series of projectors with the 3000-lumen U300X and 3100-lumen U310W. These ultra short throw offerings eliminate hints of glare as well as shadows. It also seems to be the perfect solution for education and corporate environments that employ standard or interactive whiteboards.

The latest entrants are embedded with a powerful DLP and DLP Link technologies from Texas Instruments. The U300X and U310W offer individually WXGA and XGA resolutions with brightness up to 3100 lumens. They further provide HDMI and dual computer inputs along with variable audio out for attaching the product to an external speaker. As the company suggests, the U Series models are integrated with ECO ModeT technology that delivers a lamp life up to 3000 hours and hence reduces power consumption. The Power management controls automatically turn the device off while allowing quick start and shutdown.

“NEC is proud to debut this advanced technology to our customers in the education and corporate markets,” commented Rich McPherson, Product Manager for projectors at NEC Display Solutions. “The ability to easily integrate these models into classrooms and simplify the presenting process is our ultimate goal.”

Users can expect the projectors to provide 3D capability, integrated RJ45 connection for quick LAN connection and Virtual Remote (DDC/CI) that enables them to control the device from a computer. Catering to the hearing impaired as well, NEC offers Closed captioning which displays text information. The projectors can be tilted up or down while portraying a square image thanks to the Automatic vertical keystone correction. Other features include Auto Power On, quick start and powerful 10-watt speaker that resound clearly across conference rooms and classrooms. An optional wall mount kit can be procured either separately or as a bundled solution.

The U300X and U310W projectors from NEC are slated to begin shipments by next month and respectively priced at $1,299 and $1,199. The duo comes with a standard 2-year limited parts and labor warranty.
