Sony demonstrates flexible electronic paper display in Tokyo

Sony Electronic Paper Display

‘Technology that one can wear’ was developed by Sony back in 2007 with its 2.4-inch bendable display. According to Sony Insider, the company has done it again and this time Sony has revealed its futuristic prototype of flexible electronic paper display technology at the Dealer Convention held in Tokyo.

Reportedly, a plastic substrate instead of the previously used glass substrate is utilized by this e-paper. The glass substrate is said to be heavier as compared to its plastic counterpart. This newly designed innovation can supposedly be rolled up like real paper plus is believed to be rigid and difficult to break even when users drop it.

However, Sony hasn’t apparently declared the date of embedding this technology into its Reader devices. For now let’s hope that if and when the company brings this creativity into the Reader, the device turns out to be pocket-friendly.
