Kingston graces the market with new DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 USB flash drive

Kingston USB 3.0 Drive

Just a while back, we caught a sight of Kingston rolling out its highly attractive DataTravler Mini Fun Generation 2 USB flash drives. Now, the company makes a mark with its first USB 3.0 flash drive, the Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 flash drive. The solution takes advantage of the quick USB 3.0 specification that offers around ten times the data transfer rates as compared to the current USB 2.0 specification.

The new offering delivers read speed of 80MB/s and write speed of 60MB/s. Users now have the flexibility to pick their eye-popping drive in varying capacities of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The efficient combination of speed and size makes it a suitable solution for data backup or fast transferring of large files like music, image and videos. The convenience level is further augmented with a Y cable since some USB 2.0 ports require it to initialize USB 3.0.

“USB 3.0 is the next major milestone in Flash memory for USB products and Kingston wants to have a solution in the marketplace for early adopters,” remarked Andrew Ewing, USB business manager, Kingston. “The DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 is our first USB 3.0 Flash drive offering and is designed for enthusiasts who like to embrace new technology before it goes mainstream.”

Apart from this, the Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 USB flash drive is backed by a five-year warranty. The device also lends support to Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP OS.

The 16GB DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 USB flash drive can be purchased now for $89 (approx Rs. 4,091), 32GB model for $138 (approx Rs. 6,344), while the spacious 64GB for $270 (approx Rs. 12,413).
