NEC flaunts MultiSync PA241W desktop display

Here’s a news bit for those interested in displays for professional graphics applications – NEC has introduced the MultiSync PA241W desktop display as part of their MultiSync PA series. The display is touted to deliver color accuracy that is well-suited to video editing, print production, digital photography and similar needs.

The 24” device renders resolutions of 1920 x 1200p in a 16:10 widescreen aspect ratio. It is endowed with a 10-bit IPS LCD panel and 14-bit lookup table for enhanced color depth. The screen extends 360 cd/m² of brightness and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. The chassis hosts 10-bit DisplayPort, USB hub and DVI-D with HDCP connectivity options.

“NEC’s MultiSync PA Series is a flagship desktop monitor family that carries market leadership in the color, medical and professional industries,” affirmed Art Marshall, Product Manager at NEC Display Solutions. “The MultiSync PA241W, the first model in this series, focuses on both workflow productivity and color accuracy, with the aim to improve upon the success of the MultiSync 90 Series.”

The display is cited to proffer 102% and 99.3% coverage of NTSC and Adobe RGB, respectively. It has an ambient light sensor and automatic backlight adjustment features. The ICC profile emulation loads ICC color profiles to accurately accommodate manufacturer color spaces. Other features comprise of DisplaySync Pro, 3D lookup table, Color Vision Emulation and a carbon footprint meter.

PA241W boasts of having efficient cable management and a smaller stand size. The latter is ergonomically designed to allow for tilt, swivel, height-adjust and pivot tweaks. NEC’s MultiSync PA241W desktop display is out for $1,079 (approx. Rs.49,916) and comes backed by a four year warranty.
