The advent of PC gaming has spawned a huge industry around it that seems to be mushrooming very fast. Gateway has given their FX series of gaming PCs a makeover and has proclaimed the availability of their FX6831-03 and FX6831-01 PCs.
Both come with newly redesigned chassis that offer easy accessibility to key features and speedier access to ports and peripherals. The HD headphone and microphone jacks are hosted at the top front of the PC, while the media card reader is fitted at more convenient angle. The body features a recessed storage tray on the top and an enclosed rear compartment just behind it.
“When it comes to online entertainment, PC gaming and value, Gateway’s FX Series can’t be beat,” elaborated Steve Smith, Gateway desktop product marketing. “While maintaining our price/performance leadership position, the new FX models boast a race car-like design with red accents and lighting, and include several new features that enhance the convenience and use of the PC.â€
Two additional USB ports are located at back of the recessed tray and an access door as also eject buttons for the optical disk drives are incorporated into the front sides of the PC. The control dial for adjustable lighting effects, Photo Frame, stand by and backup buttons are placed on the top front of the unit. The FX6831-03 has a Blu-ray disc 4X BD-ROM / DVD-SuperMulti Drive and 16GB DDR3 memory, while the FX6831-01 has 8GB DDR3 memory.
Both PCs boast of Intel Core i7 860 2.8GHz processors with Turbo Boost technology, ATI Radeon HD5850 w/1GB discrete video memory, 1.5TB SATA hard drives, 16X DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti drives and run with the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS. The Gateway FX6831-01 and FX6831-03 are priced at $1,699.99 (approx. Rs.78,624) and $1,299.99 (approx. Rs.60,124), correspondingly.
