Foxit intros eSlick reader with ePub support

Foxit eSlick Reader In an effort to maintain its position in the ebook market, Foxit has now incorporated support for ePub documents in its eSlick ebook reader. This reader will now enable users to view documents in ePub and PDB formats along with the originally supported PDF and text formats.

The eSlick is now available with firmware 2.0 that incorporates additional features in this reader. These new features claim to improve the overall performance of this reader. Users can now view images in GIF, EMP, JPEG, and PNG formats on this e-reader. The on-screen virtual keyboard enables users to enter text. The text entering ability of this ebook reader proves useful while unlocking documents are available with password protection.

“Releasing of eSlick firmware 2.0 shows our commitment to existing and future customers that we will continue our innovation and development to improve user experience of eSlick devices,” says Eugene Y. Xiong, President of Foxit.

The new firmware also adds a folder option that assists in managing large ebook libraries. Customers can create folders and store books according to categories. Users can also name, copy, move and delete folders. Apart from this, the firmware also incorporates a bookmark option in this reader. This function allows users to start reading from the page bookmarked earlier.

The Foxit eSlick reader with firmware 2.0 will be made available starting from the end of this month. The existing eSlick users can download this firmware for free from the company’s official website. The pricing details of the reader are yet to be disclosed.
