LG Electronics has unveiled a new range of LCD monitors, which are 19-inch and 20-inch wide, offering a high contrast ratio and superior resolution. Ideal displays for both business and entertainment purposes, these monitors can be modified into a ready to watch television monitor as well.
The common features of the LG LCD monitors include contrast ratio of 5000:1 (DFC), ultra fast response time of 5 milliseconds (ms), the company’s unique f-engine and an embedded picture correction technology.
You can enjoy rich multimedia experience in pictures, games, engineering design drawings and many more. They also come equipped with an incorporated PAL tuner for TV viewing.
Moreover, the monitors also work as a Desktop TV without the need to hook it up to the PC. However, when you connect it to the computer, users can utilize it for computing applications as a standard LCD monitor.

The 19-inch wide L194WS LCD monitor has sRGB and Intelligent Auto (Auto Resolution) features along with a high resolution of 1440×900 pixels, contrast ratio of 5000:1 (DFC), 300 nits brightness and a viewing angle of 170/170 degree.
L194WT, a 19-inch LCD model sports ARC, HDCP Ready, 1440×900 pixels resolution, 300 nits brightness, contrast ratio of 5000:1 and a viewing angle of 170/170.
The M1921A LCD TV monitor comes with a 19: wide screen with 4:3 aspect ratio and integrated PAL TV Tuner. The 19-inch M198WA LCD TV monitor provides 16:10 aspect ratio, integrated PAL Tuner to work as TV monitor without connecting to PC. It also functions as a Desktop Monitor as well as TV ready for desktop viewing.
The 20-inch wide screen M208WA LCD TV monitor offers 16:10 aspect ratio, integrated PAL Tuner, Digital Fine Contrast Ratio of 3000:1 and acts as a TV monitor along with the Desktop TV without connecting to computer.
Available at select LG stores, the L194WS costs Rs 12,700, L194WT is priced at Rs 13,700, M1921A retails for Rs 18,900, M198WA carries a price tag of Rs 18,200, while the M208WA comes with a suggested price of Rs 19,700.
For a 19″ monitor, a resolution of 1440 x 900 is not all that much. I run my year old Dell laptop (17″ screen) with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 which is the least I would expect for a 19″ monitor and more for the 20″.
