The Sony Cyber-shot lineup for FY12 introduced in India, features 34 cameras in different categories such as Super Hi-Zoom, Compact Hi-Zoom and S series. While some of the cameras are already available in the country, the company plans to release the other imagers in the lineup before the end of next month.
The Super Hi-Zoom series is inclusive of the DSC-HX10V, DSC-HX20V and DSC-HX200V featuring 16x, 20x and 30x optical zoom, respectively. Integrated with the Sony Exmor R CMOS sensor, these devices come with functions like Superior iAuto, 3D sweep panorama, 3D still image and sweep multi-angle amongst others. Also included in the series is the DSC-H90 with 16x optical zoom and 360 sweep panorama mode. All these cameras have been included with Optical SteadyShot image stabilization to do away with blurring due to camera shake.
The Compact Hi-Zoom series comprises the DSC-WX150 and DSC-W690 cameras fitted with the Advanced Aspherical (AA) lens for up to 10x optical zoom. Some other attributes such as 360 sweep panorama, SteadyShot image stabilization, picture effects and more have been incorporated too. Additionally, the WX150 boasts of 3D sweep panorama as well as Superior iAuto with 33 pre-loaded scene settings. The 16.2MP W series snappers such as the WX50, W630, W620 and W610 also feature the image stabilizer along with 360 sweep panorama mode.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S5000 of the S series is splashed with shades like black, pink and silver and is the most affordable of the lot. The 14.1MP camera works with AA batteries and claims to offer some of the aforementioned attributes including 5x optical zoom, 360 sweep panorama, iAuto shooting mode, picture effects and a lot more.
The Sony Cyber-shot FY12 lineup price and availability details for India have been revealed. The H90, HX10V, WX50, W630, W620, W610 and S5000 are now available for Rs. 13,990, Rs. 17,990, Rs. 11,990, Rs. 8,990, Rs. 7,990, Rs. 6,490 and Rs. 5,490, respectively. The HX20V, HX200V and W690 will hit store shelves in May with price tags of Rs. 22,990, Rs. 27,990 and Rs. 10,990, correspondingly. The WX150 will enter the market towards the end of this month for Rs. 14,990.
