Panasonic Lumix DMC-S2 compact camera unveiled at CES

The Lumix S series of compact cameras have been further extended with the addition of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-S2 that claims to suit all users, regardless of their photography skills. The device, like all the other cameras from the company, was announced at the CES. It will be made available in shades of pink, black and violet.

The DMC-S2 is equipped with a 28mm wide-angle Lumix DC Vario lens with 4x optical zoom. The 14MP snapper is inclusive of Mega O.I.S. that cuts down on the blurring effect due to camera shake. With its panorama mode, users can click horizontal and vertical wide shots by overlaying a number of images to create one panoramic picture. Additionally, the dedicated button for its Auto Retouch mode can regulate brightness and contrast.

The stylish compact camera flaunts a 2.7-inch Intelligent LCD, while the integrated Venus engine helps with recording as well as processing images. Its Sonic Speed auto focus system boasts of enhancements such as high speed actuator, parallel software processing and optimized algorithm, which facilitate capturing fast motion scenes. Moreover, the iA mode eliminates the hassle to manually adjust various camera settings. Needless to mention, it can also be employed to record high definition videos of 1280 x 720p resolution.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-S2 release date and price have not been disclosed.
