Sony launches powerful a55, a33 DSLR cameras with Translucent Mirror Technology

For hardcore photographers hanging onto their hats for a uniquely designed solution that features leading-edge technologies without being bulky, Sony’s got something. The company recently announced the availability of its new a55 (SLT-A55V) and a33 (SLT-A33) DSLR cameras with Sony’s exclusive Translucent Mirror Technology.

Embedding a compact, stylish form factor, the new cameras claim to be the world’s first models to maintain continuous phase detect auto-focus when recording high-definition AVCHD movies. Sony has quite meticulously distinguished the new a55 and a33 by incorporating its unique Translucent Mirror Technology which promises to revamp the experience.

The above stated technology utilizes a fixed translucent mirror which allows light passing through the lens to be simultaneously received by the image sensor and auto-focus sensor. Making the devices even more distinctive is Sony’s latest APS high-definition CMOS sensor which offers high-quality imaging of up to 16.2 megapixels on the a55 and 14.2 megapixels on the a33.

Users can also capture ultra-wide panoramic photos in 3D by taking advantage of the useful 3D Sweep Panorama, while geotagging and Auto+ mode will enhance the experience. Apart from all this, the cameras feature Quick AF Live View which renders high resolution images directly from the image sensor itself.

Further, the new solutions boast of Tru-Finder feature which ensures complete frame coverage and an effective resolution of 1.15 million conversion dots.

Users can purchase Sony’s new a55 (SLT-A55V) for Rs. 47,990 while a33 (SLT-A33) will make users shell out Rs. 37,990.
