Panasonic rolls in Lumix ZR3 digital camera

Anyone wanting to buy a digital camera these days would surely be spoilt for choice considering the vast numbers of such devices being released by manufacturers on a regular basis. Panasonic has slid the covers off their Lumix DMC-ZR3 digital camera that boasts of AVCHD Lite HD video recording capabilities and 8 x optical zoom.

The camera integrates a 25mm ultra-wide-angle Leica lens which delivers 8 x optical zoom and Intelligent Zoom extends its zoom capability to 10 x. Users can shoot videos in AVCHD Lite HD video format accompanied by Dolby Digital Stereo Creator for high quality footage. The Video Divide function enables users to delete or shorten footage on the device itself by dividing video clips into two sections within the camera menu.

“The 2010 Panasonic Lumix lineup of digital cameras pack advanced functions into smaller, more compact bodies without compromising the ability to take high quality photos and video,” remarked David Briganti, Senior Product Manager, Imaging of Panasonic Consumer Electronic Company. “With a remarkable 8 x optical zoom power, sleek design, HD video capabilities, the Lumix ZR3 is a compact and versatile camera that is also extremely easy and intuitive to use.”

ZR3 sports a 2.7” Intelligent LCD and extends AF speeds of around 0.26 second (wide-end)/0.31second (tele-end). It accommodates SD/SDHC memory cards as well as SDXC cards. Other featured technologies consist of iA mode, Face Recognition, AF Tracking, Intelligent ISO control, Happy mode, Intelligent Exposure and Intelligent Resolution.

Panasonic’s Lumix ZR3 digital camera will be out in shades of silver, black, red and blue. The pricing and availability details are foggy for now.
