Photography fiends who like to pose and flutter wide smiles have yet another reason to deepen their passion. Pentax has recently removed the veil off an all-new digital camera entitled the Pentax X90.

Featuring an extra-wide zoom, the X90 comes equipped with an electronic viewfinder and longer battery life. The device delivers effortless picture-taking in a wide variety of situations to photographers of all levels. The most highlighting feature of the camera is the 26x megazoom, super-telephoto lens that focuses to less than one inch away to capture images of subjects that are near or far.

The latest offering integrates 12.1 megapixel sensor for large prints or cropping flexibility and 2.7-inch LCD with anti-reflection coating for composing and playback of images and videos. Users can now transfer photos and videos from the camera to a computer or an online sharing website, thanks to its Eye-Fi wireless SD memory card connectivity for built-in Wi-Fi capability.

The HDMI port plays back unprecedented high resolution images and videos on HDTVs while the Fast Face Detection technology quickly finds up to 32 faces. The X90 also boasts of Triple Shake Reduction technology that includes a high quality mechanical sensor-shift SR mechanism, Digital Pixel Track and high ISO SR, and Movie SR.

Further, the new digital camera offers speedy, continuous shooting up to 11 frames per second and subsumes a powerful, lightweight Lithium Ion battery with improved power efficiency.

The Pentax X90 digital camera carries a price tag that reads at $399.95 (approx Rs. 18,539). It is anticipated to ship in April 2010.
