‘Fashionable’ and ‘cool’ seem to have become the synonyms of gadgets nowadays. Fabricating an elegant device, Nikon has recently shed some light on its newly designed Coolpix S80 camera. Dressed in vibrant shades of red, black, blue, pink, gold and silver-brown, the latest device strikes the right chord of amateur and professional photographers.

Sporting a bright 3.5-inch ultra high-resolution 819,000-dot OLED touchscreen, the Coolpix camera lets users easily control the key functions with a simple tap. It equips tab-graphics for composing users’ photos and optimizing the screen space without meddling the icons. This sensitive device automatically shifts landscapes when users tilt the device according to their preference.

“Our consumers not only rely on our compact digital cameras for beautiful photos and brilliant technology, but also as a reflection of their personal style. The Coolpix S80’s slim, sophisticated design, touch screen technology and excellent features make it fun for consumers to capture high quality images and share their memorable moments,” quoted Bo Kajiwara, director of marketing, Nikon.

Social networking enthusiasts can share their photos and videos by using the S80’s touchscreen which renders composing and viewing photos and HD (720p) movies. It proffers a wide viewing angle (approximately 180 degrees), brightness control and an anti-reflection coating. Users can effortlessly slip this Coolpix device into their pockets or bag since it measures just 0.7-inches thin.

Users can benefit from its paint function, color options, soft focus, selective color, cross screen, miniature effect and fish-eye effect in order to personalize their images. Its retouch menu lets users adjust the in-camera images with just the touch of a finger. Further, an in-built slideshow function and video recording feature with optical zoom and stereo sound are also bundled in.

The S80 flaunts a 14.1 megapixel CCD sensor and 5x wide-angle optical zoom-Nikkor ED glass lens. Other highlights are five-way VR Image Stabilization system, including optical and Hybrid VR, motion detection, ISO settings up to 6400, best shot selector, and Expeed C2 image processing engine. The camera renders an easy auto mode, seventeen scene modes, smart portrait system, in-camera red-eye fix, improved face-priority AF, smile timer, blink warning, blink proof, and skin softening for better usage.
