Sanyo’s newest offering seems to fit the bill for a camera that’s practical in almost any season. The full HD dual camera, Xacti CA102, by Sanyo is waterproof up to a depth of 3 meters and meets the IPX8 standard based on JIS C 0920 waterproofing guidelines. It shoots full HD 1080 60i videos and is capable of snapping digital photos underwater at 14MP resolutions.

The camera flaunts a 2.7” wide LCD for HD playback, separate photo and video recording buttons apart from featuring improved Eye-Fi compatibility. It offers 12x dual range zoom video and 5x optical zoom video. This Xacti is capable of high speed sequential shooting of 22 photos at 7fps and integrates face chasing technology that intuitively detects and corrects focus and lighting for up to 12 different subjects.

The device captures videos within a 40mm-240mm wide angle lens range and shoots pictures within a 38mm-190mm wide angle lens range. It is attributed with digital image stabilization and hosts a mini HDMI digital interface. The SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card enabled camera also features MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 High Compression technology.

Sanyo’s Xacti CA102 is Windows 7 compatible and accepts over 64GB SD cards. There’s also a USB 2.0 port that allows users to hook it up to a PC easily in order to back-up or share captured content. A DB-L80 high capacity Li-ion battery powers the camera, enabling it to offer around 70 minutes of recording. It’s onboard smart power functions ensures that the Eye-Fi card is shut off from imbibing power when not idle.

This flashy Sanyo Xacti will sell for around $349.99 (approx. Rs. 16,160) and it’s coming out this month.
