Pentax announce its new light and compact X70 Megazoom digital camera with amazing magnification 24X optical zoom lens with coverage from wide-angle to super-telephoto. It has also announced new smc Pentax DA 15mm F4 ED AL Limited ultra wide-angle lens for its Digital SLR cameras.
Sporting a 12 MP sensor, flexible exposure modes and SLR styling, the X70 is an easy-to-use compact camera with abundant quality features such as aperture/shutter priority, metered manual modes, true hardware sensor-movement Shake Reduction, faster operation and a high quality zoom lens. Be it casual shots, travel or sports photography, this new camera performs effortlessly.
The Pentax X70 comes equipped with a large 2.7-inch color LCD display with an anti-reflection coating that helps reduce glare from sunlight during outdoor viewing. Its “image sensor shift†Shake Reduction system ensures blur-free images and the high-speed continuous shooting lets you capture about 11 images per second and up to 21 images in succession. It also features Fast Face Detection AF&AE, Smile Capture, Blink Detection, multi-mode exposure system and auto sensitivity control up to a high ISO of 6400.
You can capture high quality video clips equivalent to high-definition TV (1280 x 720 pixels) at 15 fps and also record videos at 848×480, VGA and QVGA resolutions at 30 fps. The Movie SR mode helps minimize camera shake during movie capture and the X70 also comes with auto Picture mode for the automatic selection of seven different shooting modes.
Pentax’s Limited Lens series has been designed for a remarkable in image reproduction and its latest member the DA 15mm F4 ED AL Limited lens packs in all its attributes. The new Pentax lens offers 23mm angle of view (in the 35mm format) for amazing wide-angle images. The compact and lightweight lens feature hybrid aspherical (AL) lens and an extra-low-dispersion (ED) glass optical element, Quick-Shift Focus System and a Super Protect coating on front surface of the lens.
The DA 15mm F4 ED AL Limited lens and the X70 digital camera will ship in April for $649.95 USD and $399.95 USD respectively.
