The camcorder market recently received a new entry with the launch of the BenQ M1 camcorder. According to Techfresh, the camcorder is now available in the Taiwanese market.
The M1 boasts of a 10 megapixel 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with 5x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. The camcorder features a 3-inch swivel LCD display. No internal storage is offered. However, the device supports a microSD/SDHC card slot up to 32GB. The BenQ device is capable of capturing both 1920 x 1080p HD videos at 30fps and 1600 x 1200p to 3264 x 1840p digital still images.
The BenQ camcorder sports a 1450mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery and it weighs about 210 grams without the battery and the SD card. The dimensions of this pocket sized camcorder are 112.5mm X 44.35mm X 63.5mm. The BenQ device is compatible with USB 2.0 and PictBridge.
Apart from the BenQ M1 camcorder, the package is inclusive of hand strap, battery charger set, AV cable, USB cable, user manual-CD ROM, adapter and pouch. The BenQ M1 camcorder is retailed in Taiwan for around $278 (approx. Rs. 12,888).
