Panasonic announces Wi-Fi LUMIX TZ50 Digital Camera

Panasonic LUMIX TZ50 Now share or send photos to Google’s Picasa Web Albums, a free online photo-sharing service, wirelessly from your digital camera, provided you have the latest Panasonic TZ member.

Panasonic extends its TZ -series of digital camera with the launch of its latest camera, dubbed LUMIX DMC-TZ50. The USP of this gadget is the standard 802.11b/g wireless LAN connectivity that allows photo uploading on Google’s Picasa Web Albums by using T-Mobile HotSpot Service.

The 9.1 megapixel camera carries a 3-inch LCD screen with 460,000-dot high resolution, 720p HD Video recording function, 28mm Wide-Angle Lens to capture subjects and scenes wider at the same standpoint than a normal 35mm camera, and 10x optical zoom. Users can watch the video on an HDTV through an optional component cable or via SD Memory Card.

“This advanced digital camera makes it possible for users to share their photos with friends and family with unprecedented ease and without a computer,” commented Alex Fried, National Marketing Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. “Active users will appreciate the TZ50’s Wi-Fi capabilities so they can share photos while on-the-go, but they will also benefit from HD video recording, a 10x optical zoom and a 28mm wide-angle lens, so capturing images, whether far or wide; moving or still — is all possible with this compact camera.”

It also comes with Panasonic’s advanced Intelligent Auto (iA) mode that includes seven intuitive technologies, Intelligent Exposure, Digital Red-eye Correction, MEGA O.I.S., Intelligent ISO, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection and Continuous AF. The Intelligent LCD function has the ability to detect the lighting condition and control the brightness level of the LCD in 11 fine steps.

The TZ50 integrates the Venus Engine IV, Panasonic’s new high-performance image processing LSI, which delivers high-quality images. It also improves noise reduction, elevates the detection accuracy and corrective effects in both MEGA O.I.S. and Intelligent ISO and reduces the shutter release time lag.

The Panasonic LUMIX TZ50 Wi-Fi digital camera is slated to be available in May for $449.99 (approx. Rs. 18,000) and 12 months of complimentary T-Mobile HotSpot Wi-Fi service.
