After the initial announcement, Pentax has now revealed that its Optio S10 is now available in India through IDLDPL (India Digital Life Style Distributors Pvt. Ltd.).
Featuring 10.0 effective mega-pixel resolution, the camera also bundles a large 2.5-inch LCD monitor with an LCD booster to adjust the brightness of the monitor, DivX supporting MPEG-4 file formats to record long and high-quality movies along with 3X optical zoom lens.
Housed in an ultra-compact aluminum alloy design, the new Optio S10 digital camera features Digital SR for shake reduction and reducing blurring of the subject along with Face Recognition AF & AE to automatically detect and focus on faces in the image area. This camera also improves point-and-shoot digital camera to capture professional-looking pictures with minimal settings.
Now there is no need of complex adjustments, as one can enjoy clicking pictures with just one touch of a button and experience clear and crisp photos. Interestingly, you will get the same crisp and clear images when it’s enlarged to A3 size. There are few modes as part of the Face Recognition feature that are available on Optio S10, namely the Natural Skin Tone mode that detect information on skin texture, half-length Portrait mode to capture close-up photograph of the upper body of the subject by trimming the people recognized in photo frame. Other modes include Auto Picture Mode that automatically determines the shooting conditions for Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene and Normal modes. This later selects the optimum settings for each subject.

The camera carries an aluminum alloy outer cover and features a large 1/1.8-inch CCD with large sensing area is used for the image sensor to offer amazing performance for tone reproduction, texture delineation and noise reduction.
