Dell Latitude XT Tablet PC features multi-touch

Latitude XT Dell takes a step forward with its new innovative multi-touch feature for the Latitude XT tablet PC. Apart from the multi-touch upgrade, Dell has also announced the availability of its 128 GB solid state drive. “We introduced the Latitude XT as a revolutionary product in the tablet space,” said Jeff Clarke, senior vice president, Dell Product Group. “Today Dell is taking that commitment to a new level with multi-touch functionality. We plan to finish this year with 50 percent more products in our laptop portfolio and deliver innovation our competitors can’t match.”

The Dell Latitude XT tablet PC with the multi-touch feature lets you scroll across the screen just by placing your finger on it and moving in the horizontal or vertical direction to easily navigate through web browsers and other applications. You can zoom various content just by moving your two fingers on the screen together to zoom in or out. It also comes with a programmable tap, just by tapping two fingers twice on the screen you can launch a web browser or turn off the power. It works well with various applications including Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, Google Earth etc.

Dell’s new 128 GB SSD has hit the US markerts with a starting price of $649 (approx Rs. 27,830). The new SSD are eight-and-a-half times more resistant to shock and more than three times reliable than the standard ones. Dell’s 64 GB ultra-performance SSD offers up to 22 percent better efficiency compared to 7,200 RPM hard disk drive.
