Transcend rolls out its latest 1.8-inch portable solid state drive (SSD), dubbed the SSD18M, in the Indian market.

Available in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB capacities, the 1.8-inch SSD sports a new high-speed eSATA interface that delivers a maximum read speed of 90MB/s and write speeds of 50MB/s. Also supporting the USB2.0 interface, the drive ensures maximum compatibility with all types of notebook and desktop PCs and offers read/write speed up to 35/25 MB/sec.
Measuring only 80 x 50 x 12.5mm and weighing just 50g, the extremely portable storage device features greater resistance to shock and vibration as compared to 1.8″/2.5″ hard disks. The SSD18M come with an integrated ECC (Error Correction Code) functionality and wear-leveling algorithm for highly reliable data transfer; and supports non-volatile Flash Memory for outstanding data retention.
The Transcend SSD18M Portable SSD will be available via Redington, Supertron, Mediaman and Bharti Teletech in India. The drive carries a price tag of Rs. 7,000 for 32 GB, Rs. 12,000 for 64 GB and Rs. 20,000 for 128GB.
