Apple yesterday declared the 5th Generation iPod touch possessing new features which now comes at a more cost effective price. It will be available in shades of black and white along with iOS 5 and iCloud services.

The 5th Generation iPod touch integrates one of the most advanced mobile operating systems, iOS 5 which brings along more than 200 new features such as iMessage, Game Center, Notifications and Wi-Fi Syncing to iTunes. Through iMessage users can text friends through their iPod touch with the same messaging functionalities of an iPhone. They are enabled to send text messages, photos, videos and contact information to others possessing iOS 5 devices with ease. The Game Center feature lets users add pictures to their profile and find friends as well as new games easily. They can also buy new games from the Game Center app.

Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing stated, “iPod has revolutionized the way we listen to music and with over 320 million sold is the world’s most popular music player. iPod touch, now available in both black and white, is the best selling iPod ever, and with iOS 5 and iCloud it is better than ever.”

The 5th Generation iPod touch operates with the company’s set of free cloud services called iCloud. The iCloud incorporates iTunes, Photo Stream and documents which are said to function smoothly with the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and PC. The service automatically and wirelessly stores the content in devices. When content in one device changes, all others are also instantly updated.

The 5th Generation iPod touch with iOS 5 and iCloud will be available from October 12. It comes in three capacities of 8GB, 32GB and 64GB with a price tag stating Rs. 13,500, Rs. 19,900 and Rs. 25,900 respectively. The device can be purchased online at apple.com or from Apple’s retail stores and authorized resellers.
