The iPhone 5 release date and its price in India may have surfaced through various sources and e-retailers in the past, but now the official details are out straight from the horse’s mouth. It will be available in shades of black or white and the basic model will set users back by Rs. 45,500.
The taller and thinner iPhone has been outfitted with a 4-inch Retina multi-touch display, capable of rendering visuals in 1136 x 640p resolution at 326ppi. Its sleek form factor measures 7.6mm in thickness and the smartphone tips the scales at approximately 112 grams. Users can make FaceTime calls with the assistance of a front-facing webcam and employ its 8MP iSight camera to record high definition 1080p videos. And if that’s not enough, the rear imager also features a sapphire crystal lens cover, a stabilizer and face detection amongst others.
Its internal working is carried out under the supervision of the A6 chip and the iPhone 5 acquires intuitiveness from the latest iOS 6 platform. It claims to cough up the juice for talk time of up to 8 hours in the 3G mode. In addition to dual-band Wi-Fi, the handset boasts of LTE and DC-HSDPA network support for relatively fast wireless internet access. A compact Lightning connector is embedded on the device and it is packaged along with the Apple EarPods.
The price of the 16GB iPhone 5 is tagged at Rs. 45,500, while the 32GB and 64GB variants can be picked up for Rs. 52,500 and Rs. 59,500, respectively. It is slated to hit availability status on November 2.
