iPhone 5 Cricket release date scheduled for September 28

iPhone 5

The iPhone 5 Cricket release date information has arrived, with the carrier joining the growing league of network providers offering the latest generation iDevice. It is expected to hit select Cricket markets in the US starting from September 28.

Needless to say, the smartphone will operate on the service provider’s 4G LTE network, though the exact price details have not been revealed. Going by tradition, the phones should be free of long term contracts and potential users will have to pay up a relatively higher price upfront. For now, pre-order details have not been mentioned and it’s clear that the handset will be made available in Cricket shops on the said date.

The sixth generation iPhone sports a 4-inch Reality display and it supports an 8MP iSight camera on the back panel. Its primary snapper also offers 1080p video recording capability and it captures panorama pictures as well. The side profile measures a mere 7.6mm thin, allowing Apple to boast about it being 18% sleeker than the 4S.

iOS 6 runs the complete show, while an A6 chipset operates under the hood to handle the device’s workload. A front-facing FaceTime HD camera stays in place to facilitate video calls, self portraits and 720p HD video recording. Apple has also designed brand new earplugs sporting a unibody construct for the handset in question.
