With several network operators and manufacturers expressing their holiday mood already, another announcement to join the bandwagon is the Express from Sprint handset being offered at a heavily discounted price by the carrier. The device was originally introduced for a price of 249.99 USD (approx. Rs. 12,997). Another introducing festive offers is AT&T, who has announced Cyber Monday.

Powered with the Gingerbread OS, the Express shows off a candy bar form factor which seems convenient to handle and flaunt as well. While the physical QWERTY keypad provides ease while typing, effortless navigation is offered by a 2.6-inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen with a 240 x 320 resolution.

On the flip side, the device sports a 3.2MP camera with flash and camcorder support, which lets users preserve memories in the form of images and videos. Equipped with Wi-Fi b/g/n connectivity, the smartphone acts as a mobile hotspot for other devices. Other than this, it also comes with wireless connectivity options like Bluetooth, 3G, and GPS.

Embedded with a 1500mAh battery, the device offers talk time of up to 6 hours for chatting with friends and family. Sprint has graced this device with various services like the Sprint ID and Sprint Zone. Sprint ID gives direct access to a suite of apps, widgets, shortcuts, ringtones, wallpapers, and other multimedia content according to the users’ choice.

On the other hand, Sprint Zone offers new applications, Sprint TV, NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile, Sprint Music Plus phone tips, news, and users’ wireless accounts directly from the handset. The interiors of this phone reveal a 512MB user memory and 512MB RAM. The external memory is expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card.

The Express from Sprint Android smartphone price after the discount is 19.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,039), exclusive of taxes. Additional charges include $50 mail-in rebate and a new two year agreement or eligible upgrade. The device is available through Sprint telesales, web sales, as well as retail stores of the network carrier.
