Sony Xperia X10 lineup Android roadmap leaked, misses Froyo

Xperia X10 Roadmap

With the enhancement of the Xperia X10 family with its mini and mini pro counterparts, Sony Ericsson seems to be leveraging these smartphones. Now, the Android roadmap in the German language has apparently leaked from the IFA show in Berlin which suggests that the update doesn’t have place for Froyo, according to the Xperia X10 blog.

The roadmap supposedly highlights three firmware releases, including the Android 1.6x, Android 2.1 and Android 2.1x. Reportedly, the Android 2.1 update for the Xperia X10 will receive 720p video recording featuring continuous autofocus. Adoption of HTML5 with five homescreens, a social phonebook with Facebook/Twitter integration and a revised menu are also ostensibly bundled in.

Coming to the X10 mini, X10 mini pro and X8, the leaked document revealed that a slight change in the four corner navigation can be expected in addition to support for Bluetooth 2.1. These models may also be upscaled with social phonebook and HTML5 adoption. The Android 2.1x update is cited to bring Sony Ericsson’s refreshed UX platform to Timescape and Mediascape along with more languages.

However, the roadmap didn’t seem to mention anything about Android 2.2 (Froyo) on the X10. Additional update of the news hinted that the Android 2.1 update is anticipated in October or November of this year. In accordance with a forum, the Android 2.1x update may appear in December 2010 or January 2011.
