Samsung has announced the launch of the S9110 watchphone. This watchphone resembles a wrist watch and includes all the functionalities of a mobile phone.
The design of this device is quite similar to the LG GD910 watchphone. The S9110 features 1.8-inch touchscreen and measures 12mm in thickness. The dual-band GSM technology enables it to send and receive emails. The watchphone also incorporates a music player that assists in playing all the multimedia files and weighs only 91g. Measuring 58mm x 41mm in size, it supports voice calling and Bluetooth 2.1.
The first ever watchphone called the SPH-WP10 was developed by Samsung way back in 1999. But the phone looked more like a digital wrist watch with a speaker jutting out from the side.
The Samsung S9110 watchphone will be made available in France from this month and will be priced at €450 (approx. Rs.30,909). There is still no official word regarding the launch of this phone outside France.
