Non-Android HTC Touch Diamond Smartphone to be Introduced Soon

Recently, we reported that HTC is looking forward to make use of the Google Android operating system onto its latest devices. So, we expected the Hi Tech Computer to roll the smartphones or PDAs with Android OS. Alas, our hopes have crashed.

HTC Touch Diamond HTC has planned to introduce its latest smartphone, dubbed Touch Diamond on 6th May. Sadly, this mobile device would feature Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, leaving behind Google’s Android.

Based on Qualcomm MSM 7201A running at the speed of 528MHz, the touchscreen smartphone is equipped with 256MB ROM/128MB RAM, 2.8-inch VGA screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, 3.1 megapixel front facing camera with flash, eGPS and FM radio.

Furthermore, it works on 7.2MB HSDPA/HSUPA (rev A EVDO for Sprint versions) and features Samsung MoviNAND 4GB internal flash storage, orientation sensor, 900mAh battery and support for microSD expansion.

It is said that the HTC Touch Diamond is the successor of Touch Cruise and the Touch Pro. The smartphone might be sold via T-Mobile. We will let you know more details as and when we get it.
