Levi’s Mobile Phone announced in Hong Kong

Levi's Mobile Phone The most-awaited mobile telephone – Levi’s has finally launched. When we first reported about it, we too excited that the branded pants manufacturer will soon roll out their first handset and thus will enter the technology industry. Later, rumors said that it will be available through Carphone Warehouse.

This time, ModeLabs Group, a customized design manufacturer (CDM) specialized in mobile phones, has introduced the first Levi’s Handset in Hong Kong. Several thousands of phones have already been ordered through the Levi’s Store, Broadway, City Call, PCCW and Show Room CSL and many more.

“Launching into a new country is the materialization of technical, marketing and sales investments,” said Pierre Asséo, Director of ModeLabs Asia. “Future product launches should benefit significantly from the experience acquired with this first deployment as the essential commercial and technical engineering will already have been deployed.”

According to the company, the first Levi’s Phone stands out from the rest with its riveted steel body and its detachable chain. It has been developed to satisfy the demand of both the telephone as a communication tool as well as the expression of a lifestyle.

“So far, the Levi’s mobile phone has received an excellent reception in Hong Kong,” maintained Jean-Alexis Chatelain, ModeLabs’ Sales Vice-President in Asia. “We are working in close collaboration with Levi’s in order to benefit from their brand image, the strength of their communication, and their commercial networks.”

Featuring a 2 megapixel camera, microSD card slot, MP3 player and Bluetooth, Levi’s phone also carries the Levi’s brand logo at the back.

Asian markets, particularly China, are the largest in volume in the world for mobile phones and are hence highly strategic. However, no mention on price of the Levi’s mobile device.
