iPhone’s Browser Safari is Easy to Hack: say Experts

iPhone Browser Safari There is something about the iPhone that attracts the attention of all the readers as well as reporters. From the launch, till now we have written so much about the device, that we can write a review of it without having one with us. Jokes apart, here is something that is very serious about the phone.

Researchers have warned iPhone users about its security system. The iPhone does not contain any security software but at the same time the device does not allow anybody to load third-party programs on the device.

However when it is connected to the Web, possibilities of loading malicious software emerge, said Marius van Oers, a security researcher with McAfee’s AVERT Labs in Amsterdam.

Oers has not revealed any specific security hole but has found out a list of ways, which could be used to hack the device.

“It’s fairly easy to send someone an SMS (Short Messaging Service) or an e-mail with a Web link,” van Oers said. “And once you go to the Web link, then that server can inject code into the iPhone, and if that happens, [a hacker] can have full control.”

“Once you get access to the system, it’s all over,” added van Oers.

Apple’s web browser has always been in the discussion since the launch of the device.

There are special programs, which have been specially designed to hack mobile phones. Through these programs repeatedly autodial or text messages are sent to a premium number. The number is owned by the hackers and they collect the revenue.

Marius van Oers also added that hacking mobile phones is not as common as hacking desktops. But the iPhone is the most popular device in the US and soon it’s launching in Europe too. Thus the chances of getting iPhones hacked are higher.
