Europe is Our Priority Focus, says Microsoft

Target Europe

It’s a very well known fact that the Wii has outsold the PS3 and the Xbox 360 in Japan and also that Wii is overtaking Xbox 360 in other parts of the world. Perhaps, reacting to that, Microsoft is now targeting to European market.

In an interview with Bloomberg.com, Microsoft group product manager Aaron Greenberg said, “The number one objective is to win on a global basis and that may mean winning some markets and losing others.”

“Europe is our priority focus right now,” he added.

The Xbox journey in Japan was indeed a difficult one. According to statistics available Microsoft has sold 446,201 Xbox 360s in Japan since 2005. Whereas Nintendo could sell 3.49 million Wii consoles and Sony sold 1.17 million PlayStation 3 consoles in 2006.

Now let’s see what Microsoft brings to the European gamers and how many Xbox 360 consoles it manages to sell there!
