Acer outs Aspire Timeline X series of notebooks for Indian market

A lot of manufacturers are moving towards delivering high performance notebooks that offer long lasting battery life for computing on-the-fly. Acer introduced the Aspire 3820 TG, 4820 TG and 5820 TG Timeline X series of laptops for Indian audiences at a press event held in Mumbai today. Offering users multi-tasking abilities, these devices are designed to render high-quality visual output and extended battery life.

Each of the gadgets comes pre-loaded with the 64-bit Windows Home Premium OS and can be purchased with Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors. The visuals are backed by the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650/5470 graphics card which integrates Switchable graphics technology. Additionally, the gadgets deliver Intel HD graphics.

“Acer is always known to break barriers on the technology front. The launch of the Aspire Timeline X will help us consolidate our market position,” affirmed S. Rajendran, CMO, Acer. “The new ATS series is an upgraded version of the previous model, powered with additional features and aims to strike a balance between computer lightness and battery life with an ultra thin, ultra light notebook series which promises all-day computing.”

The 14” HD LCD display is attributed with CineCrystal technology and exhibits a resolution of 1366 x 768p as well as an aspect ratio of 16:9. Users can reap maximum benefits out of the built-in 4GB DDR3 memory operating at 1066MHz. The RAM capacity of the gadgets is expandable by up to 8GB.

Apart from the 640GB HDD, these Bluetooth 3.0+HS enabled devices integrate the Acer Crystal Eye webcam along with Dolby Home Theatre v3 audio enhancement. Users are also offered with HDMI connectivity with these laptops. The 6-cell battery of the offering is cited to last for up to 12 hours.

Wireless connectivity of the notebooks is certified by Acer InviLink Nplify 802.11b/g/n as well as 802.11b/g Wi-Fi. The enhanced variant in the Timeline X series offers about 8 hours of battery life and weighs 1.8kgs. Its thickness measures about 22mm and it ensures high performance improved graphic output.

The notebooks come bundled with the PowerSmart adapter that is cited to reduce up to 66% of energy consumption in sleep mode. The LED backlit display incorporates Intel Display Power Saving functionality that lowers power consumption by up to 33%.

The price of Acer’s Timeline X series of notebooks range from Rs. 38,650 for the Intel Core i3 processor with a 320GB HDD variant to Rs. 48,925 for notebooks including the Intel Core i5 processor, a 1GB graphics card and a 500GB HDD. The company also plans to launch a lightweight notebook comprising of a 1TB HDD by the end of this year.
