ODOC iPhone and iPod dock listed on Kickstarter

ODOC iPhone iPod Dock 02

The minimalist and clean appearance of the ODOC iPhone and iPod dock is probably what gives it an edge over most others of its ilk, currently selling in the market. It will be made available to users if it successfully woos backers to raise funds worth $70,000 in the next 40 days. When we last visited Kickstarter, it had managed to collect $26,696 from 218 backers.

The dock’s cylindrical design makes it eye-catching and adds to the functionality as it can be twisted for the perfect angle in order to continue viewing and using the iPhone’s multi-touch display when it is docked. It is accompanied by backrests of different sizes to accommodate the smartphone with or without protective cases. The backrests can be stored inside the cylinder when they are not needed.

It offers five different viewing angles ranging from 8 degrees to 44 degrees that can be selected using the elastomeric o-ring provided on its chassis. The phone can easily be removed from the peripheral and it eliminates the need for a separate 30-pin connector. The designer has also thrown in a line level audio connector to stream music to a stereo through iTunes.

Aluminum alloy, glass and stainless steel have been used to construct the device and it further undergoes NC machining. The color options include black, white and clear over matte-aluminum. A USB port has also been embedded on the ODOC gadget.

The ODOC iPhone and iPod dock will be funded if $70,000 is pledged before June 9, 2012. Interested users can head to the Kickstarter website to support this project.
