Panasonic unveils New Line-Up of Plasma Full HD Televisions

Panasonic Logo Panasonic has introduced its 2008 line of Plasma full HD televisions. The new VIERA 2008 full HD Plasma series include a new screen size of 46-inch class display. Also the VIERA range consists of the 42-inch class, 50-inch class and 58-inch class size Plasma TVs too.

According to Panasonic, the VIERA 2008 series features a new panel with increased contrast ratio and an improved anti-reflective screen, a Game Mode, VIERA Link, increased luminous efficiency, lead free panels and 100,000 hours to half brightness.

“Not only have our Plasma displays received critical acclaim from consumer and trade publications, but Panasonic has maintained the market lead for the majority of the last three years. Panasonic has never rested on its laurels and the 2008 VIERA line continues that philosophy. And, all of our Plasmas continue to include an SD Memory Card slot, a unique feature that we have found to be a differentiator,” said Dennis Eppel, Vice President, Panasonic Display Products Company.

The new VIERA PZ80 includes three screen sizes namely, 42-inch, 46-inch and 50-inch. The three new models namely TH-50PZ80 (50-inch), TH-46PZ80 (46-inch) and the TH-42PZ80 (42-inch) feature 1080p resolution; native contrast ratio 20,000:1; Game Mode; SD Memory Card slot and three HDMI connections. The Game Mode reduces the time lag while displaying game images on the screen.

Even the new VIERA PZ85 Plasma TV series will be available in same screen sizes of PZ80. The 42-inch class TH-42PZ85, the 46-inch class TH-46PZ85 and the 50-inch class TH-50PZ85 boast contrast ratio of 30,000:1, Game Mode, SD memory Card slot and a PC input. Moreover, the VIERA PZ85’s speakers are hidden in the front side of the TV.

Another range that Panasonic introduced is VIERA PZ800. It features higher contrast ratio of 30,000:1; Game Mode; a PC Input, four HDMI connections and new one sheet of glass design concept.

The VIERA PX80 range that includes the 42-inch class TH-42PX80 and VIERA 50-inch class TH-50PX80 are equipped with contrast resolution of 15,000:1; Game Mode and an SD Memory Card Slot.

All the newly introduced Plasma displays by Panasonic will be available in the US market by Q2 of 2008. Pricing information has not been disclosed yet.
