Philips Streamium WACS7500 hub and WAS7500 Extender

Apart from women targeted products, Philips has also announced to showcase the Streamium systems that apparently “would help music escape the confines of a PC or CD collection”. Philips claims that the new Streamium WACS7500 hub and WAS7500 extenders feature a contemporary design and functionality.

The WACS7500 comes with an 80GB hard disk drive that has the capability to store up to 1,500 CDs. Moreover, the system is equipped with LCD screen that displays track information. USB connections with 40 percent more sharpness is an added advantage of the WACS7500. The system can also connect to up to five wireless extenders. Thanks to the Wi-FI technology, users can gain instant and easy access to their CD libraries and MP3 files.

While the WAS7500 extenders stations allow users to broadcast the same track to each room simultaneously or move from room to room as the music follows. Optional iPod dock is also available for the WAS7500.

“With the addition of Philips’ WACS7500 wireless home music system to Philips’ Streamium family, users can now free their music from any device, source or even media, to more easily enjoy their music wirelessly all throughout the home, combining Hi-fi sound quality with state of the art design,” said Wiebo Vaartjes, general manager, Audio and Multimedia Applications, Philips Consumer Lifestyle.

The Philips Streamium WACS7500 and WAS7500 extender will available in the US market by April 2008 at the prices of $999 (approx Rs. 39,245) and $299 (approx Rs. 11,746) respectively.
