TomTom, solution provider for portable navigation, presents two of its latest devices used in road navigation called as the TomTom One and TomTom XL. The latest models comprise of increased European map coverage with a high-quality black finish.

The TomTom IQ Routes assist the driver to reach destinations quickly and safely. Taking into account different factors that might delay the driver, the TomTom One and TomTom XL show the best possible routes one can take depending on the time of the day or day of the week. All this information is displayed on the monitor of the device. While crossing junctions and multiple lanes, it indicates which lane or exit to take with clear on-screen indications and vocal guidance.

The TomTom One and TomTom XL also incorporate loads of other features such as a matching black EasyPort mount which is small and portable and a user menu complete with high quality icons. All the latest updates on the traffic are acquired through TomTom RDS-TMC traffic receiver. With the TomTom Map Share, the customer can make corrections on the map and even share it with others.

Managing Director of TomTom Corinne Vigreux explained, “The new TomTom ONE and TomTom XL devices strengthen our mid-range product offering considerably through the combination of first-class navigation and competitive price points.”

He further stated, “IQ Routes allows drivers to take those routes that only well-informed locals know. It takes away the stress of not knowing where to go and when to arrive, as well as giving you a faster route in up to 35% of all cases. In addition, advanced lane guidance gives drivers a safer and more confident feeling when dealing with complex roads.”

Along with the TomTom One and TomTom XL device comes a free desktop application which allows users to keep the device updated and also personalize their device by downloading various applications online. Included in the TomTom IQ Routes is a Help Me! Menu which enables the driver to seek help in case of difficulties and also allows him to have access to emergency services.

The TomTom One and TomTom XL IQ Routes will be available for a starting price of €159 (approx. Rs.10,907) and €189 (approx. Rs.13,031) respectively. They are scheduled to release in April 2009 in selected European countries as well as Australia and New Zealand.
