Microsoft Xbox 360 gamers offered MovieTickets services

The Microsoft Xbox Live service sure packs in more than a bunch of exciting offerings for gamers. Here’s one that should come as a pleasant surprise for Xbox 360 console owners. Microsoft has pulled in MovieTickets to offer their services on the Xbox 360 system through Xbox Live.

All Xbox Live subscribers in the U.S. may now be able to grab tickets for movies through a text-in or a Microsoft Tag. To download content related to their favorite movies, subscribers would need to click on a feature film advertisement on Xbox Live.

“Working with Microsoft and the Xbox brand exposes MovieTickets.com to an entertainment-driven audience, providing the perfect opportunity to engage like-minded users with our online movie ticketing solutions,” explained Joel Cohen, CEO, MovieTickets. “We’re excited to be the first company allowing users the opportunity to interact with a movie advertising experience on Xbox LIVE and easily convert it into an online ticket purchase via their mobile device.”

“The agreement with MovieTickets.com provides Microsoft and movie studios another unique way to drive awareness and ticket sales through Xbox Live,” affirmed Mark Kroese, general manager for the Advertising Business Group at Microsoft. “Not only that, it provides for a great consumer experience.”

The Microsoft Tag which allows users to access tickets through almost all MovieTickets partners can also be availed of through mobile phones. It will also be available through a host of distributors across the U.S.

The company has not revealed any further details in regards to the cost users will have to shell out for this service.
