20 GB Xbox 360 Price Officially Dropped; 60 GB Version Announced

Microsoft has officially announced that the 20 GB Xbox 360 console receives a price cut by $50 (approx. Rs. 2,140), which means it will now sell for $299 (approx. Rs. 12,795) from $349 (approx. Rs. 14,936). This isn’t it! The company has also made another announcement for US and Canadian gamers. Now they can buy an Xbox 360 console with triple the storage space of original version for the same price ($349 for 60 GB model).

“We know consumers need more and more space to store the amazing digital content Xbox 360 offers, and we’re giving it to them at no extra charge. No one device offers the depth and breadth of entertainment that Xbox 360 can deliver, and now you’ll have three times the storage to manage all that great content,” explained Albert Penello, Xbox director of product management at Microsoft.

Xbox 360 60GB version will let players store great entertainment wealth such as music, movies, television shows, and game content.

It is believed that the price drop of 20GB Xbox 360 consoles in the U.S. and Canada will last till the units goes out of stock and then Microsoft will continue the production and distribution of the 60 GB model.

Besides, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Arcade that features a 256MB memory unit and five Xbox LIVE Arcade games can also be purchased for an estimated retail price of US$ 279(approx. Rs. 11,950). The premium Xbox 360 Elite console (with a 120GB hard drive) is also available for $449 (approx. Rs. 19,230).
